Eileen Cooper is a painter, printmaker, and the first woman to be Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts – a role that has been male-dominated since it was introduced in 1768.
She studied at Goldsmiths College, London, and the Royal College of Art, London. She was made a Fellow of the Royal College in 2006, and has been represented by Art First, London, since 1998. Eileen has always used mirrors in her artwork and sees them as a path to self-knowledge.
