Writer and social entrepreneur Jody Day founded Gateway Women in 2011, a friendship and support network devoted to supporting, inspiring and empowering women who are childless-by-circumstance. The Gateway Women Online Community has been reviewed as the best online community in the world for childless women and has a global reach across the English-speaking world - one member described it as 'support for the hard stuff and enthusiasm for the good stuff.'
She has studied integrative counselling and psychotherapy and is committed to giving a voice to the childless generation. She coined the term ‘NoMo’ (not-mother) which has been picked up by the media and is under consideration for inclusion in the Oxford Online Dictionary.
Gateway Women is collaborating with the Brunel Institute for Ageing Studies on their research project, ‘Ageing without Children’, and Jody's new book, Rocking the Life Unexpected: 12 Weeks to Your Plan B for a Meaningful and Fulfiling Life without Children, will be published in September 2013. The Jo Cameron Achievers’ Academy nominated her as a Women’s Champion in 2012.
