Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe has had two careers: one as a civil servant, working at a senior level in 10 Downing Street under John Major and running the Cabinet Office's deregulation unit.
She then spent 15 years at Tesco, where she became Company Secretary. She was appointed to the Board in 2006 as the Executive Director of Corporate and Legal Affairs, and she retired in 2013.
She is a Non-Executive Director of ITV PLC and Metro AG, a member of the Advisory Board of PwC and a Governor of the London Business School, and President of EuroCommerce, the European retail association.
Baroness Neville-Rolfe graduated from Somerville College, Oxford where she is now an Honorary Fellow. She is married with four sons.
