Baroness Jolly graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Control Engineering and then trained to teach mathematics at the University of Nottingham. She pursued a career as a teacher for over fifteen years before working in the Gulf for three years. On returning she became a Non Executive Director on an NHS Trust Board and worked for the Lib Dems in the Southwest.
She entered the House of Lords in 2012 and now leads for the Liberal Democrats on health and social care issues in the Lords. She is a trustee of the Parliament Choir and FLEX a charity campaigning against labour trafficking and exploitation, and is the President of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
