Ruth Amos is one of Britain’s leading young female entrepreneurs. She designed the StairSteady, a mobility aid, as part of her GCSE project on resistant materials. Ruth won the 2006 Young Engineer of the Year Award for her idea, and she went on to launch her product and start trading in 2008.
In 2006, Ruth was the youngest ever woman to win the 35 Women Under 35: Heroines For Hard Times award from Management Today. That same year, she won Women of the Future’s ‘Young Star’ award, and she appeared on the Yorkshire 42 Under 42 list in 2010.
Today, Ruth runs three companies and is an ambassador for STEM, Make Your Mark, CragRats and Bloodhound SSC.
