Katie Derham is an award-winning television and radio presenter and the face of the BBC Proms. Her impressive broadcasting CV includes programmes such as Moneybox, the ITV News, London Tonight, BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live and Radio 5 Live’s Moneycheck,
After beginning her career as a researcher at the BBC, she was appointed Media and Arts Editor for ITV News in 1998 at the age of 27 – becoming the youngest newscaster on British national television. She went on to become the main female presenter on the ITV News at 1.30, as well as presenting the ITV News at 6.30 and 10pm.
In 2010, Katie returned to the BBC and was able to rekindle her love for the violin, fronting coverage of the Proms on various channels. She also presented the Classical BRIT Awards from 2001 to 2004.
