Meet the ambassadors: Baroness Martha Lane-Fox

Welcome back folks. It’s another day in our What I See Campaign, during which 18 successful women will be partnering with us as ambassadors as part of the What I See...Features series.

Today we’ll be introducing you to the superb Baroness Martha Lane-Fox. She’s a businesswoman, philanthropist and was appointed a crossbench peer in the House of Lords in March.

Oh, and she also found time to co-found lastminute.com alongside Brent Hoberman in 1998 (it sold in 2005), become the UK’s Digital Champion and chair of Go On UK, chair LuckyVoice, MakieLab, Founders Forum for Good and the Government Digital Service Advisory Board, and be a Non-Executive Director at Marks & Spencer, MyDeco.com and the Women’s Prize for Fiction.

As if that weren’t enough, she’s founded her own charitable foundation, Antigone.org.uk and serves as a patron of AbilityNet, Reprieve, Camfed and Just for Kids Law. After all this hard work, her CBE in 2013 can’t have come as a surprise.

Martha is a fabulous advocate for the project. You can hear her talk about the risks she's taken here - we were particularly moved by her story of recovery from a horrific car accident. If you’re as inspired by her story as we are, add your own story.
