Meet the ambassadors: Baroness Pauline Perry

Meet the ambassadors: Baroness Pauline Perry

The What I See Campaign is nearly finished! Before our launch party on Tuesday, we only have a few more fabulous ambassadors for you to meet… so without further ado, we present to you Baroness Pauline Perry – an education expert and Conservative politician.

Following her time at Girton College, Cambridge, Baroness Perry became a teacher and philosophy lecturer, working in England, Canada and the USA. In 1986, she trailblazed her way to becoming the first woman ever to run a British university when she was named the Vice Chancellor of South Bank University.

Her glittering career in education includes positions as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Schools in England and President of Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge – where she also founded a centre for women leaders.
So it won’t come as a surprise that we’re absolutely thrilled to have Baroness Perry on board. We’re particularly impressed with how she talks about managing people as a woman: “You have work first to get people’s respect… by listening to them, and by nurturing them.”

Wise words indeed! You can hear the rest of what Baroness Perry had to say here.  And don’t forget to contribute your own story.
