What I See meets… Maggie O’Carroll

What I See meets… Maggie O’Carroll

You know when you meet someone, and their passion and dedication to something just blows you away? Well, meet Maggie O'Carroll.

We joined up with Maggie up in Liverpool for our panel discussion 'Good to Great: A Woman's Journey' - and yes, she's just great.

Starting her career in the United States, Maggie moved to Liverpool in 1991 where she successfully started and grew her own management consultancy business: "In that journey I came aware of the challenges that women have in growing and starting their own businesses". So in 1996 she started The Women’s Organisation to promote female enterprise as a huge untapped entrepreneurial market for the UK - and it is now the largest and most successful dedicated Women’s Business Support Charity and Social Business in the UK. As well working with universities across the world, from Cambridge to Boston, and guiding the boards of social enterprises Vivark Ltd and First Ark - Maggie is an expert on all issues relating to women's education, employment, entrepreneurship and social enterprise.

Maggie's advice to the younger generation of female entrepreneurs? 'Rather than saying "I can't" - say "I will" and "how do I?"'
