‘I think my biggest challenges probably lie ahead of me.’ Dr Terri Apter is the Senior Tutor at Newnham College, Cambridge. Her diverse studies in the area of psychology form the basis of her writing about family, development and identity, particularly mother-daughter relationships. Her most recent book, Difficult Mothers, was a Guardian Booklist bestseller, The Sister Knot was a finalist for the 2008 Books for a Better Life Award, The Confident Child won an International Educators Award, and Altered Loves was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year in 1990. She has presented her work at the Oxford Literary Festival, the Edinburgh Literary Festival, the Hay Festival, Words by the Water and the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
