‘I think I’m a much more confident person than I’ve ever allowed myself to believe…’ Eileen Cooper RA is a painter, printmaker, and the first woman to be Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts – a role that has been male-dominated since it was introduced in 1768. She studied at Goldsmiths College and the Royal College of Art in London, before being made a Fellow of the Royal College in 2006. She was elected Keeper of the Royal Academy in 2011.
