“To be a woman means difficult choices… and to sacrifice.” Sarah Wood worked in academia until she turned her hand to business in 2006. She is now co-founder and COO of Unruly, the leading global platform for social video marketing. Sarah has numerous awards to her name: she was voted UK Female Entrepreneur of the Year by the Growing Business Awards, one of 10 London-Based Entrepreneurs to Watch by Forbes, one of 15 Women to Watch in Tech by Inc., and Digital Woman of the Year by RED Magazine. Sarah held a research fellowship and the University of Sussex and she is currently teaching an MPhil course as an Associate Lecturer at Cambridge. She is part of the Gazelle Group of Entrepreneurs and sits on the Social Media Week’s Global Advisory Board. Sarah says the best advice she’s been given came from her university professor on the eve of her finals: ‘Courage.’
