What do you see when you look in the mirror?
I see the same fringe I've had for too many years. Freckles. Half my mum's smile, half my dad's. The DNA that gave me blue eyes but not patience (which went to my sister). Someone who still gets spots, gets ID'd at bars - despite having nearly a decade on the legal drinking age - and wonders if she'll ever be able to wear heels during the day time like an actual grown up.

I see the the black under-eye smudges from the late nights, white nights, coffee-started mornings, the laughter, love, worries and regrets and that particularly awkward thing I said when making small-talk with a stranger. I see the hours lapse between a morning's fresh face and the evening's that's slightly more careworn. I wish I could see it as other people do.
