We just can’t keep up with Eileen Cooper…we write a blog post about her, and then off she goes to launch her Edge to Edge exhibition at the Art First Gallery – coincidentally, where we held our What I See communicator filming days.
The What I See team attended the launch of her latest exhibition, which features work from the past two years of Eileen’s life – including an image from her What I See video (Paper Doll). These new drawings and paintings by the Keeper of the Royal Academy will be on show at Art First from September 10 to October 12.
The title 'Edge to Edge' expresses her preoccupation with pictorial and psychological space. Dynamic dance-related compositions, adopted for a new group of participants, develop Cooper’s exploration of the canvas’s edge to brilliant effect. The ‘groups’ of works, which are the focus of the exhibition, sustain the overall sense of her intimate, poetic, sometimes playful but, above all, universal world, for which she is known and celebrated. - Art First Gallery
